Former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Tanner Mordecai was selected by the D.C. Defenders with their ninth selection in the 2024 UFL Draft, the team announced on Wednesday.
Mordecai, who played at Wisconsin for one season after transferring from the SMU Mustangs, threw for 2,066 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions across 10 games last year with the Badgers.
That led him to be signed by the San Francisco 49ers this offseason after he wasn't selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, and Mordecai is currently preparing for training camp, which starts shortly later this month.
