The Wisconsin Badgers had a major change at quarterback this offseason, as two players ultimately transferred out of the program looking for playing time elsewhere: Myles Burkett and Nick Evers.
Burkett, who transferred to Albany, had been the No. 3 quarterback for Wisconsin as a true freshman, but never got the opportunity to play before being buried on the depth chart for the 2023 season.
Despite being a Wisconsin native, the redshirt sophomore decided to transfer out of the program, finding a home with Albany, where he could compete for the starting job.
Well, ahead of the season, Albany head coach Greg Gattuso revealed that Burkett will be the team’s starting quarterback in the season opener next Saturday against LIU.
