No team in the National Football League has as many Wisconsin Badgers as the Pittsburgh Steelers. While starting quarterback Russell Wilson and outside linebacker T.J. Watt are the most notable of the five Badgers, second-year linebacker Nick Herbig turned heads this preseason.
Despite the Steelers’ 0-3 record, Herbig began to stand out in the team’s second preseason game against the Buffalo Bills.
In Pittsburgh’s 9-3 loss to Buffalo, Herbig accumulated six total tackles and registered 1.5 sacks against the Bills’ quarterbacks. Herbig captured two sacks at Detroit the following week in the Steelers’ 24-17 loss to the Lions.
