The 2014 Wisconsin Badgers women’s soccer team reached numerous milestones on the path to its Big Ten championship.
Genevieve Richard, named the Big Ten’s goalkeeper of the year before capturing the tournament’s defensive MVP award, recently signed for the Nojima Stella professional soccer squad in Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan.
The Quebec-born, 22-year-old Richard already experienced playing in Japan with the Canadian Women’s National Team at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Wisconsin went 19-3-2 last season, including wins over Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa to claim the conference title.
