Eaves, removed in March as Wisconsin's head coach after 14 seasons, is taking over the program at Division III St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.
School officials announced the hiring on Friday.
Eaves, who guided UW to a national title in 2006 and to a runner-up finish in 2010, finished with a record of 267-225-66 with the Badgers.
He was let go because the program slipped dramatically in his final two seasons. UW finished a combined 12-45-13 in that span. That included a mark of 4-26-5 in 2014-'15, the worst in program history.
