The Wisconsin Badgers have lost 25 players to the transfer portal this offseason, seeing some attrition, especially along the defensive line.
Well, their top outgoing transfer at the position has finally found a new home after a bevy of high-profile offers, as James Thompson Jr. is heading to the Illinois Fighting Illini for his final season of college football.
At Illinois, Thompson will join fellow defensive lineman Curt Neal, as well as outside linebacker Leon Lowery, as the trio of defenders all are heading to the Fighting Illini this offseason.
Thompson was one of the more sought-after defensive linemen in the transfer portal, catching offers from Tennessee, Texas A&M, Auburn, Arkansas, and a bevy of other schools, taking a few visits before making his decision.
