Joel Stave received the snap, dropped back, slipped and hit the turf.
The Wisconsin football team’s first play from scrimmage served as a foreshadowing of what was to come. Wisconsin fell — much like Stave did on that first play — to Northwestern 13-7 on Senior Day at Camp Randall Stadium.
Despite all of the mishaps and turnovers, the Wisconsin football team’s offense had one final chance to win the game. Down six with 1:47 to go, Stave and the UW offense took over at their own 26.
Stave completed 4-of-5 passes on the drive to take the Badgers inside the 30-yard line.
