Saturday night’s game against No. 3 Alabama was supposed to be Corey Clement’s grand entrance.
Instead, the junior running back spent the majority of the game on the sidelines, hampered by a left groin injury he suffered in practice the week of the Alabama game, University of Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst said.
Clement carried the ball only eight times for 16 yards. Backups Taiwan Deal (six carries for 14 yards) and Dare Ogunbowale (three carries for nine yards) rounded out Wisconsin’s meager rushing attack.
Chryst said he was being cautious with his premier offensive player.
