Chris Solinsky said he has “always kind of had the mentality of just fading off to the sunset.”

Solinsky announced his retirement from professional running on Wednesday, capping a storied career that saw the Stevens Point native win a slew of WIAA and NCAA championships while rewriting record books at the prep, collegiate and national levels.
