The hot start to the season continued last weekend, as the No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers (8-0 overall, 4-0 WCHA) earned two big wins in the Border Battle.
After sweeping then-No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth in Madison, Wisconsin made the trek to Minneapolis for a series against the nation’s new No. 3, the Minnesota Gophers (4-3-1 overall, 0-3-1 WCHA).
Sophomore Cassie Hall opened the scoring Friday night in the waning minutes of the first period, but the game would remain tight until the Badgers opened the floodgates, scoring four goals in less than five minutes to chase Gopher goaltender Skylar Vetter and earn a 5-0 win.
