Eagles soar past UW hockey team

Boston — The University of Wisconsin hockey team knew it was in for a long night shortly after the puck dropped.

Boston College's Austin Cangelosi lit the lamp just 12 seconds into the game and the fourth-ranked Eagles soared to an easy 6-0 victory over the Badgers in their home opener at venerable Kelley Rink.

"We talked about having a great start, and that was not the start we wanted," Wisconsin coach Mike Eaves said.

Cangelosi, who had two goals against the Badgers in a game two seasons ago, knocked a rebound shot past Badgers senior goaltender Adam Miller to start the onslaught.
