Madison — Wisconsin appears to have a championship-caliber defense.
The Badgers' offense remains in the formative stage, though, with the Big Ten Conference opener looming.
UW's defense proved impenetrable for the second time in three games, and redshirt freshman tailback Taiwan Deal fashioned his first 100-yard rushing performance to carry the Badgers to a 28-0 victory over Hawaii on Saturday night at Camp Randall Stadium.
The Badgers (3-1) open Big Ten Conference play at 11 a.m. Saturday against visiting Iowa (4-0). The Hawkeyes, who last visited Camp Randall Stadium in 2009, remained unbeaten with a 62-16 victory over North Texas.
