Clement, Stave return for a Wisconsin victory over Rutgers

Madison – Corey Clement returned -- after a seven-game hiatus caused by a sports hernia.

Joel Stave returned – after a three-quarter break caused by a concussion.

Wisconsin's defense, which has been on call since a shaky performance in the opener, gave its usual impressive effort on a dreary day Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.

The result: UW manhandled Rutgers for the second consecutive season, this time by a 48-10 margin, in front of a sparse crowd of 74,575.

UW has outscored Rutgers, 85-10, in the two meetings.

Next up for UW (7-2, 4-1) is a road game against Maryland, which was 0-3 in the league and 2-5 overall entering its game later Saturday against Iowa.
