Bogey-free round to finish regional gives Wisconsin Badgers golfer Gabby Curtis berth in NCAA Championship

The three-foot putt rolled into the cup on her final hole Wednesday, and Gabby Curtis let out a big sigh of relief.

Curtis played her first bogey-free round, a 4-under-par 68 that gave her a tie for fourth at the NCAA women's golf regional at University Ridge Golf Course at 7-under 209.

That was enough for Curtis to earn an individual qualifying spot for the NCAA Championship even though the Badgers didn't finish in a top-six spot as a team.

"I knew that I had to have an under-par round, at least," Curtis said. "After I made a couple birdies on my first nine and I got to my back nine, I was like, 'OK, let's just settle in and take it from here and see what happens.
