Madison — Both finished for the day because of injuries, Leon Jacobs and T.J. Edwards met after Day 3 of Wisconsin's preseason camp and asked each other the same question:
"What happened to you?"
On Thursday, Day 4, UW's projected starting inside linebackers stood on the sideline and watched several backups rotate in with the No. 1 defense.
Edwards (shoulder) and Jacobs (dislocated toe) insisted they didn't expect to be out too long, and they anticipate being ready for the Sept. 5 opener against Alabama.
"My shoulder just got a little sore after so I decided to take it easy," Edwards, a redshirt freshman, said after UW practiced on the grass field north of Camp Randall Stadium.
