Isaac Jordan finished what he started the day before, defeating two seeded opponents in consecutive wrestling matches to earn the 165-pound crown at the Cliff Keen Invitational on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
In the semifinal match, the top-seeded University of Wisconsin athlete faced off against fourth-seeded George Pickett of Cornell and won by an 8-1 decision. The junior then outscored Purdue’s 10th-seeded Chad Welch 5-3.
Jordan has won 11 straight matches to begin the 2015-16 campaign, which includes the 165-pound title Nov. 21 at the Navy Classic.
After losing in the 174-pound quarterfinal on Friday, seventh-seeded Ricky Robertson finished fifth, defeating eighth-seeded Brian Harvey of Army.
