STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- In a match that lasted more than four hours, the University of Wisconsin tennis team fell to host Penn State 4-3 in a Big Ten Conference match on Sunday.
UW (3-10) lost two of three doubles matches, giving the Nittany Lions the point.
UW's doubles victory came from the tandem of Ekaterina Stepanova and Sydney Rider, who defeated Jacqueline Zuhse and Katherine Whiteaway 7-6.
"Not getting the doubles point is clearly a problem for us," UW coach Tina Samara said. "Getting that would definitely take some of the pressure off of us on the singles courts.
