Just more than a month ago the University of Wisconsin women’s soccer team’s season was at a crossroads.
An embarrassing 4-0 loss to Penn State in the Big Ten Conference opener had dropped the Badgers below .500 for the season and put their once lofty goals in jeopardy.
Coach Paula Wilkins’ message to her team after that game was simple and direct.
“We put ourselves behind the 8 ball a little bit,” Wilkins said. “After our loss to Penn State … I said to the team they had to decide what type of team they wanted to be.
