Rose Lavelle and McKenna Meuer both scored their second goal in as many games to lead the University of Wisconsin women’s soccer team to a 2-1 overtime victory against North Dakota State on Sunday at McClimon Field.
Lavelle, a junior, scored the game-winner from 20 yards in the 100th minute as the Badgers (2-0-0) overcame allowing a late goal.
“It was hard playing two games back to back where we had to stretch ourselves a little bit,” UW coach Paula Wilkins said. “We created opportunities and gave ourselves chances to maybe put the game away earlier.
“McKenna and Rose, in both games, have stepped up and done a great job, but we’re going to have to ask some other people to do that.
