The second-seeded University of Wisconsin women’s soccer team won a share of the Big Ten Conference regular-season title for the first time since 1996.
Following an upset in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament, the Badgers won’t be adding a postseason league tournament trophy to their haul.
Despite outshooting Ohio State 22-10 and producing all nine of the game’s corner kicks, the Badgers suffered a 2-1 loss to the seventh-seeded Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon at McClimon Field.
Ohio State (11-5-3) scored on a penalty kick in the 30th minute and on a header off a cross in the 34th minute.
