Madison — Ann-Renée Desbiens stood tall again Saturday night.
Desbiens, the WCHA player of the year, stopped 22 shots as the Wisconsin women's hockey team overpowered Mercyhurst, 6-0, in an NCAA quarterfinal game at LaBahn Arena.
The Badgers (35-3-1) will face arch-rival Minnesota (33-4-1) in the semifinals of the Frozen Four on Friday in Durham, N.H. The time of the game will be announced later. The Golden Gophers advanced with a 6-2 victory over Princeton.
Desbiens recorded her 21st shutout of the season against the Lakers (19-11-5).
Sarah Nurse had a goal and two assists to spark the Badgers.
