Badgers women's golf: Brooke Ferrell Big Ten leader after two rounds

NEWBURGH, Ind. – The University of Wisconsin's Brooke Ferrell shot an even-par 72 on Saturday and maintained her two-shot lead heading into the final round of the Big Ten Conference women's golf championship.

The junior from Edgerton followed up her first-round 65 to post a school-record two-round total of 7-under 137, matching Jessie Geary's effort in 2008.

Ferrell holds a two-shot lead over four golfers, including Rutgers' Emily Mills, Michigan State's Sarah Burnham, Northwestern's Stephanie Lau and Michigan's Megan Kim. Two others are at 140 and two more are at 141.

Ferrell's efforts helped the Badgers card a 2-over 290 on the 6,221-yard layout at The Fort Golf Resort near Indianapolis.
