Twenty years from now, what fundamental lesson will Michael Lihrman want his children to know about his time as a student-athlete at the University of Wisconsin?
“Don’t rely on someone else to make you the best,” he said.
That sounds an awful lot like the voice of reasoned experience.
Lihrman will leave UW with a degree in economics and a certificate in entrepreneurship — graduating on May 16 — and one of the most accomplished resumes in the history of its men’s track and field program.
He’s a two-time NCAA champion and national collegiate record-holder in the indoor weight throw as well as owner of the school and Big Ten Conference standard in the outdoor hammer throw.
