Kelsey Card broke her own school and Big Ten Conference record in the women's shot put on Friday at the Wisconsin Twilight meet, but the University of Wisconsin senior apparently wasn't satisfied with adding "only" 4 inches to her mark.
So she went out and chucked it another foot and a half farther.
Card extended her record by nearly two feet, winning the event with a heave of 60 feet, 10¾ inches at the McClimon Complex.
"I'm really excited about it. Going over 60, oh my gosh," Card said. "It was huge. ... Last time throwing here, in a Badger uniform, I wanted to try to go out on a high note.
