Another centimeter or a hundredth of second less and Georgia Ellenwood would’ve been a Big Ten Conference champion.
Instead, the University of Wisconsin junior will have to settle for one of the best runner-up finishes in school history.
Ellenwood missed out on a conference title in the indoor pentathlon by a point, falling short 4,393-4,392 to Minnesota senior Jess Lehman at the Big Ten meet on Friday in Geneva, Ohio. Ellenwood broke the UW school record in the process, and both contenders eclipsed Lehman's Big Ten record in the pentathlon.
“I’m happy about breaking the record and everything, but it’s a little disappointing,” Ellenwood said.
