Badgers to be without starting guard against Penn State in must-win game

The Wisconsin Badgers are set to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions in the season finale on Saturday, with tip-off set for noon at the Kohl Center.

While the Badgers entered the weekend as double-digit favorites, they will have to work without starting guard Max Klesmit for a third consecutive game.

Klesmit suffered a lower-body injury in the early minutes of Wisconsin’s win over Washington and hasn’t played since, with head coach Greg Gard acknowledging that it was a nagging issue that had been bothering the guard for a while.

The Badgers have gone 1-1 since then, but have struggled a bit, specifically on the offensive end in both games, raising questions as to how well they can play without their top guard.
