Badgers swimming: Four pool records fall as men, women sweep UW-Green Bay

The University of Wisconsin men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams swept UW-Green Bay at the UW Natatorium on Friday night, breaking four pool records in the process.

The men’s 200-yard medley relay of seniors Austin Byrd and Jake Mandli and juniors Harrison Tran and Ryan Barsanti broke the first mark by finishing in 1 minute, 28.38 seconds to surpass the previous record of 1:29.88.

Byrd claimed the pool record in the 100 backstroke, winning in :47.32 to top former teammate Drew teDuits’ mark of :47.45.

Junior Danielle Valley won the 1,560 freestyle in 16:14.76, demolishing the mark held by Carly Piper by more than 10 seconds.
