A good start continued into the second game of a doubleheader, but a six-run sixth inning derailed the University of Wisconsin softball team’s chance at a sweep of UW-Green Bay on Tuesday at Goodman Diamond.
Freshman Kelsey Jenkins drove in three runs in the second game, hoping to keep the momentum going from an earlier 6-2 victory, but Miranda Spangberg’s grand slam in the top of the sixth provided the Phoenix more than enough to turn things around for a 15-9 win.
Jenkins finished a combined 6-for-9 for UW (18-23) against UWGB (13-19).
