Lamar “Soup” Campbell, a former University of Wisconsin defensive back, was hired as an assistant athletic director for student-athlete engagement, the athletic department announced Friday.
Campbell signed as a free agent with the Detroit Lions after completing his UW career in 1998 and played five seasons with the team before spending another three years in the organization as a scout. He founded Life After the Game Consulting based in Atlanta and spent seven years as the managing partner for the business that collaborated with the NCAA, NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball in social media training, personal brand management and career transition initiatives.
