University of Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez announced a number of changes to his staff Monday.
Katie Ahrens Smith and Jeff Schmidt, both longtime athletics staff members, were each promoted to associate athletic director and will join the department’s senior staff.
Alvarez also announced that chief of staff Walter Dickey will assume new duties as deputy athletic director. Also, associate athletic directors Marija Pientka, Justin Doherty, Jason King and Doug Tiedt were promoted to senior associate athletic directors.
In addition, associate athletic director for business operations Randy Marnocha began a new role with the UW-Madison Division of Business Services.
