WEST WINDSOR, N.J. — The University of Wisconsin men advanced four of five boats to the next round of racing at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships on Friday on Lake Mercer.
Unfortunately for coach Chris Clark, it was the Badgers’ top boat — the varsity eight — that failed to advance.
The Badgers’ second and third varsity eights, the varsity four and the lightweight four boats continue in the three-day event, which concludes Sunday.
The second and third boats each finished second in their respective heats while the varsity four was a heat winner. Each of those boats advanced to today’s semifinals.
