Badgers rebound nicely from season-opening loss

Madison – In the wake of Wisconsin's stunning season-opening loss to Western Illinois, at the top of a long list of questions was this:

How would the 17th-ranked Badgers respond against Siena, a tougher opponent than Western Illinois?

The answer: with solid overall play on both ends of the floor and a 92-65 victory Sunday night at the Kohl Center.

UW (1-1) looked shaky early on defense but got stingier as the game progressed and got to the free-throw line all night to avoid starting 0-2 for the first time since the 1995-'96 season, Dick Bennett's first as head coach.
