Badgers men's soccer: Tom Barlow's goal helps net draw in preseason opener

DEKALB, Ill. — The University of Wisconsin men’s soccer team kicked off its preseason Sunday with a 1-1 draw against Northern Illinois.

“This was a good start to our preseason and another good step in the growth of this team,” coach John Trask said.

The Badgers, who were 3-12-3 last year, struck first early in the second half on a goal from sophomore Tom Barlow.

Brought up by sophomore midfielder Mike Catalano, the ball was played to junior forward Brian Hail, who then found Barlow. Barlow dribbled in on Huskies goalkeeper Andrew Glaeser and fired the ball past him inside the far post.
