NEWBURGH, Ind. – The University of Wisconsin men's golf team notched its lowest round at the Big Ten Conference golf championship on Sunday but finished last nevertheless at the Victoria National Golf Course in Newburgh, Indiana.
The Badgers, shooting 15-over 303, finished 14th at 57-over-par 921, three strokes back of Nebraska (918) in 13th.
Illinois (26-under 838) ran away with the conference crown, shooting a final-round 264. The Fighting Illini entered competition on Sunday at 2-under but turned it on to win by a whopping 13 strokes.
The Illini won the title for the second straight year and seventh in the past eight years.
