It’s been a busy week for the Wisconsin Badgers, as they fired offensive coordinator Phil Longo after a 16-13 loss to the No. 1 Oregon Ducks on Saturday, marking the biggest move that head coach Luke Fickell has made in his short tenure in Madison.
Longo’s departure marks a major shift for the program, as he was Fickell’s highest-profile hire, bringing his coveted “Air Raid” style to Wisconsin. However, through 23 games, amid injuries and inconsistencies on the offensive end, the system never took off in Madison, leading to the offensive coordinator’s firing.
Now, with two games left, the Badgers are focused on making a bowl game this year, with a matchup against the Nebraska Cornhuskers coming up on Saturday.
