The Wisconsin Badgers men’s hockey season unofficially kicks off the season this Saturday with an exhibition game in Nebraska when they take on Omaha. The Badgers enter the 2024-25 campaign ranked 10th in the USCHO poll, coming off an exhilarating bounce-back season that ended with a series of unfortunate losses.
In Mike Hastings’ inaugural season at the helm, the Badgers doubled their win total from the previous year, finishing 26-12-2 and briefly ascending to the No. 1 ranking for the first time since the 2006-07 preseason poll. Runners up in the Big Ten regular season, Wisconsin faltered a bit down the stretch with two losses to last-place Ohio State and a split against Michigan State that clinched the league for the Spartans.
