The Wisconsin Badgers have a new-look team ahead of the 2024-25 season, as they saw seven players depart from the program last year, while bringing in three transfers and three freshmen to fill the gaps in the rotation.
But, there are still a few key mainstays, and none may be bigger than rising sophomore guard John Blackwell, who many have pegged as a breakout candidate this season.
As a freshman, Blackwell averaged eight points and 3.2 rebounds, while shooting 44.6 percent from the field and an impressive 45.5 percent from deep.
Now, as he settles into a higher-volume role, the sophomore is looking to take over for Wisconsin, and head coach Greg Gard has noticed the change.
