Although the Wisconsin Badgers didn’t play in the Frozen Four this weekend, they still found a way to bring some hardware back to Madison.
On Friday night, Wisconsin senior goaltender Kyle McClellan was presented the Mike Richter Award as the top goaltender in college hockey. The ceremony took place in St. Paul, Minnesota as part of the Frozen Four. McClellan was selected over fellow finalists Jacob Fowler (Boston College) and Kaiden Mbereko (Colorado College).
McClellan played a spectacular season between the pipes for Wisconsin, leading the country in save percentage (.931) and shutouts (7), while finishing the year second in goals against average (1.
