Fans at LaBahn Arena were treated to one more exciting contest with this year’s NCAA Tournament Regional Final between the Wisconsin Badgers and the Clarkson Golden Knights, with the Badgers ultimately pulling away late to secure their 16th appearance in the Women’s Frozen Four.
Clarkson (25-13-2 overall) quieted the crowd when they jumped out to an early lead, capitalizing on an early power play after Ava Murphy was sent to the box for tripping. The Golden Knights seemed content to focus on protecting their lead, registering just four shots in the first period and getting bodies in front of the net to make life difficult for the Badgers.
