Arkansas State's Livingston charged with punching officer

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — An Arkansas State basketball player is charged with punching a police officer in the throat at a medical facility.

Police say Anthony Livingston, 22, hit Jonesboro Officer Tyler Wilson on Thursday after Wilson threatened to shoot him with a stun gun because Livingston was being combative and resisting arrest. It wasn't clear why Livingston was at the medical facility.

Livingston fled but was arrested after being shot with a stun gun near the Arkansas State football stadium.

Wilson is hospitalized; his condition isn't known.

Livingston was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation and return to court June 29.
