The Wisconsin Badgers made significant changes this offseason to the linebacker room, adding five total transfers across the two positions as they re-shuffled their defense to better match defensive coordinator Mike Tressel’s scheme.
At outside linebacker, the Badgers brought in Leon Lowery and John Pius, who were both immediate contributors during spring ball. On the inside, Wisconsin went after Jaheim Thomas, Tackett Curtis, and Sebastian Cheeks, adding both ready-now and high-potential talent to the linebacker room.
That led to some serious competition during spring ball, with the linebacker room turning from a position that struggled in 2023 to a potential position of strength.
