The merry-go-round of coaching changes in the NFL can often have a great impact on young players, and this fall a former Badgers standout might benefit the most from a new coach. Former Wisconsin safety Dezmen Southward is transitioning to the cornerback position heading into the 2015 NFL season, and will do so under former Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, now the head coach in Atlanta.

Southward, who joins fellow Badgers alumni Warren Herring, Peter Konz and O’Brien Schofield on the Atlanta Falcons roster heading into training camp, will have the chance to learn under the tutelage of the coach who helped shape one of the best secondaries in the history of the NFL.
