The Paul Stastny trade somewhat shocked the hockey world, after the Blues looked like they had a chance for the playoffs. They waived their white flag and they gave up.
The Blues weren’t the only team to give up, as both Montreal and Ottawa had a big sale. The Winnipeg Jets capitalized on Montreal, and picked up Joe Morrow to have some insurance on the back end.
To acquire Morrow, the Jets only had to sacrifice a fourth round pick, which isn’t usually a difference maker. For a guy who could help us near the end, I feel like it was a fair price, maybe even a bit cheap.
