Now in their offseason, Washington Capitals’ General Manager Brian MacLellan has put finding a top line right winger to play with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom high on his to-do list. Here are some players who may fit the bill for Washington outside of their organization:
The Winnipeg Jets acquired Stafford and Tyler Myers from the Buffalo Sabres this past February and both players helped drive the club to its first playoff appearance since their relocation from Atlanta in 2011. The 29-year-old right winger will be an unrestricted free agent this summer after finishing the season with 43 points (18g, 25a).
