Third period collapses could spell doom for Jets

“…We sat back and watch too much in the third.”  That’s what Drew Stafford told reporters after last night’s 4-2 loss to the Ducks. He has a point, the Jets gave up three third period goals and didn’t manage to score once. Their 2-1 lead in at the beginning of the third period was quickly erased when Corey Perry scored twice to tie and take the lead. Ondrej Pavelec ended up with the loss after a great first two periods. Adam Lowry and Stafford scored the two Jets’ goals in the loss.

Giving up two goals to a high-scoring team isn’t uncommon, but in a playoff game it’s a glaring issue with a team’s defense.
