Sputtering Jets look to cool down red-hot Flames

WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- The Winnipeg Jets started the week in the frying pan, jumped into the fire and are now in the midst of a four-alarm inferno.

After losing to the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday and the team they beat in last year's final, the San Jose Sharks, on Monday, the Jets' playoff aspirations are in grave danger of going completely up in, well, flames, as they face the hottest team in the league on Saturday.

The Calgary Flames come to town having won eight consecutive games, including a 5-0 pasting of the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.
