Visitors down home team 3-1

A quick start wasn't enough for the Winnipeg Jets, who dropped a 3-1 tough-luck decision to the New York Rangers Sunday at Bell MTS Place.

Jimmy Vesey scored with 3:53 left in the third period to give the visitors the win, sending Winnipeg to a second straight defeat on home ice. Michael Grabner added an empty netter for insurance.

Winnipeg, now 32-15-9 on the season, had two goals waved off: one right off the hop, and one with just over a minute left to play which would have tied it.
