The Winnipeg Jets are experiencing some early season power play problems.
An overnight hydro outage has put a wrench into Day 2 of training camp. The first of three on-ice sessions was set to begin at 8 a.m. but had to be delayed. Officials at MTS Iceplex first discovered the problem around 5:30 a.m. They immediately contact Manitoba Hydro, who traced the issued to a farmer hitting a pole while doing some overnight tilling.
All of this was occurring while hundreds of fans were waiting outside as part of the Jets annual Fan Fest. The festivities began in the parking lot as scheduled, but entry to the building was not allowed.
