Since he’s not on the ice for Development Camp because of his knee injury, second-overall draft pick Patrik Laine signed a lot of autographs today at MTS Iceplex.
The most important autograph he signed was on his first NHL contract, endorsing the three-year entry-level deal he has struck with the Winnipeg Jets.
The team announced the signing, saying the agreement is worth an average annual value of $3.575 million. Laine’s initial annual salary is $925,000 as stipulated by the NHL’s collective bargaining agreement, so the rest is bonuses.
