Odds for the Nolan Patrick sweepstakes have been released, and the probability of the Winnipeg Jets landing the projected No. 1 pick in June’s NHL Draft is slim.
The Jets, who finished the 2016-17 NHL regular season in ninth place in the Western Conference and 20th overall, will have a 2.7 per cent chance of hearing their name called for the first-overall selection when results of the draft lottery are announced in Toronto on Saturday, April 29.
The NHL draft lottery consists of three separate draws — one for each of the first three picks — and will ultimately determine the order selection of the first 15 teams in the first round of the draft.
